Has anyone modified their heel/toe? Are all Boulevards this type of shift? If not, are the toe-shift-only units swappable? I've never been a fan of heel toe, I never use the back pad, so I'm just wondering. I thought maybe if I got a 2nd one and cut it off at the pivot and maybe drill a hole to bring the toe pad an inch or two closer. Would that make it a tough shift? Hard to think it would, but physics is not my forte. Anyway I'd then get it chromed. Just a thought that I'd like to get some perspective on.

I think they have all been like it since 2005 but I could be wrong.
I don’t actually use the heel shift as when I have attempted to use it I have nearly always end up using it wrong and the bike ends up screaming! I only use the toe shift and I personally am comfortable with it where it is.
Removing the heel section of the shift would cause no issue at all, chop away!
A friend of mine completely did away with the floor boards and heel/toe shifter and put forward controls on which came as a complete unit with front pegs.
I will try to find out what unit he got and some pics at the weekend if I see him which I usually do.

I actually prefer the heel/toe as it means I can wear ordinary boots and not worry about scraping the left foot upper on the shifter. But I do find having the foot flat down as opposed to forward means my trousers bend at the top of the cruiser boot which is a bit annoying - with feet forward I suppose the extra stretch means neater jeans Has anyone modded a shifter? 474255 . One of the reasons I chose the C800 over the M800 was the boards v pegs - on my test ride I got ankle-ache on the M800 holding my right foot poised for the brake. But I'm sure you get used to it. I must admit foot forward looks cool when I see other cruisers pass. As for a mod, maybe but I think the whole attitude of the C800 is meant to be less 'street' and more relaxed. I quite enjoy kicking the heel down but I do get a bit mixed up when I jump on my Bandit - it just wont shift up when I kick the footpeg!! Has anyone modded a shifter? 2516569736

I like the whole setup to be fair but I would be happier if the floor board was angled a bit more.
I did think about trying to mod it to do that but It would mean the rear of the board being lower and I am not prepared to lose any more lean angle. I scrape the bloody boards at nearly every corner as it is, it does my head in as I am now getting nervous of corners. All it takes is a bit of a wave in the tarmac and you go from calm and relaxed to stressed as you anticipate coming off.
This needs looking in too!

Hadn't really considered that but yes I am very hesitant of corners after scraping once or twice so footboards not so good there. I wonder how much more lean you could get without the foorboards as on the M800? I'm so used to leaning right over on my Bandit I just hold right back on the C800 and think well this is a cruiser so just take it easy.

I kind of think along the same lines, but I would like just a bit more lean-ability than I have. I know that in real terms there is quite a bit of forgiveness in the boards but for bikers that are used to leaning a fair bit, it just seems to catch a bit to quick for my liking.
However to be fair you don't tend to hear of people coming off because of it but my biking history over the last few years has been with Scramblers and Super-Moto and you have little to no chance of grounding out. What would normally happen is a slide out so maybe I am riding a bit to aggressively.
I bought this bike because I loved it and the laid back riding style so maybe I should stop trying to make it in to something it's not and enjoy it for what it is.

I also like the boards but will eventually get forward controls as I like the way it looks, kind of classic cruiser look :yeahman:

Astute observation. I concur.
