I am looking for a screen and a seat for my m50. So far I have been unable to find something I like that is matched with a price I like.
I'm looking for a solo seat and very short windscreen (fly screen type). Sources that don't make money out of postage would be most appreciated.

Seats are a very personal thing and price is always on the high side for these. The best option for a cheaper seat that is bespoke would be to speak to a local upholsterer as they would be able to reshape your stock seat and recover it.

Seats:- I once had a 'Corbin' seat fitted to my 1100 Dragstar. The seat was decorated with chrome studs all around the edge, which went really well with similar decoration on sissy bar pad. The seat itself was utterly rock hard, felt like a wooden plank to the touch, but strangely was the most comfortable seat I ever owned. Beats me how they do it. By the way, I once had a local upholsterer re-design the seat of my Kawasaki 305. After that, I felt like I was sitting 'in' the bike rather than 'on' it. Total success, reasonable price. Didn't look as cool as the Corbin, but then the bike wasn't a cruiser either, and for me, looks are tops. Forget economy, or performance, looks (and sound) are where it's at.

Screens are a personal choice too. Whilst it can't deny how useful they are in keeping rain off when I've borrowed another bike (and I rarely go over 70, usually 60-65 to enjoy engine sound) wind nuisance isn't really a problem for me. However, In my very personal view, a bike looks 'cooler' without a screen. And at 65 yrs of age, I need all the 'cool' I can get.

Do you actually want a new seat, or just a solo seat look? I took the pillion seat off my M50 and installed the seat cowl, and now it looks great. I find the stock seat very comfortable, so for the comparitively little money I spent on the seat cowl it was worth it.

I will be strapping a tent on the back and that works best with a flat rear seat area. The cowl makes it rounded. I'm thinking a rack or bib. The seat is comfortable but I would ideally like it a bit lower. I will probably just get it reshaped, but would like to keep the seat if I ever sell the bike as a changed seat can be a turn off for some. Especially if the front is made narrower. So s replacement would be the ideal solution.
Yes I do know what Google is for and have used it with very little result.(Just for those who might be tempted to reply "Google it" )

Screens. I'm not tied to actually having one, but do find they keep the bugs off. The headlight cowl works almost as good as a small screen, but I would like something that comes a little higher. I want to see over not through and not get bugs in my jacket and face.
Also to concider we have a lot of log trucks on our roads and I have had a helmet ruined by a stone thrown up from one. I would prefer not to get on on my chest!
A small screen in addition too the cowl would provide enough protection from bugs and rocks, but not cause wind problems or noise. The only one on the Suzuki site for the m50 is over $800 screen and seat 17537562 I have seen others for the m50, but earlier models without the cowl. Would an M90 or M105 one fit maybe?

Over 18000 responses made on this site and never once has anyone ever said "google it" or anything similar!

Try Corbin seats, they are reasonably priced and as comfortable as anything on the market.

Corbin seats are a bit too expensive for me, especially if I have to pay postage to Aus.

Ok then what about this for an option.

Take the cover off the seat, this is very easy to da as it is just stapled on. This will leave you with the seat pan and foam. Now using a long sharp knife, seperate the seat foam from the seat pan. Put the seat cover and foam away to be used when you require it at a later date.
Now buy some nice thick seating foam from your local shop for a couple of dollors along side some very thin foam. Also buy some stretch leatherette/PVC. Cut the foam to the desired shape, I found the best way to do this was with an electrical carving knife. You will find however that you can't get a perfectly smooth finish but when you have thpe shape right you simply lay the very thin foam over the top to give a nice finish, the reason you use the thin foam is that any imperfections will show through the covering. Now place the stretchy leatherette/PVC over the top and staple it to the underside of the seat pan.
This will cost you next to nothing but would give you a comfy low slung seat as required and the stock seat can be placed back together in less than ten minutes and nobody would ever know.

Mr Intruder thank you for the how to.
I have reshaped a seat before and it worked quite well, but I had not thought of taking the step of replacing the foam. A good idea, now I will investigate seat foams and covers to see what will suit me best. screen and seat 184121345

Will do, and after my ride through the country side today I will definitely be looking for a solution to the windscreen problem. Way too many bugs...everywhere. screen and seat 2037161312
