| Decided to do a mod to the air filter cover, cut approx 4" peice out both top and bottom for more air flow. What you can see is obviously the top,it is just mirrored to the base as well.I can not see that much water getting in to cause any problems, and if it does it will run straight out of the base anyway. If it does not work out can always go bare,or get another cover.I may cut a circle out out the front like Mr Intruder has done to show off the K & N filter, just waiting on my mates dremel to do that.Looking at the pic it looks like a big peice has been taken out,it is only 4 1/2" long and 1 1/2" wide. | |

| Looking good Alfie If we could hear your engine now, it would be going Ahhhh fresh air at last As you mentioned Dremel, that just reminded me. they are expensive but very much worth the money however, I did see that Maplins are selling a copy of them for a very good price, sorry I can't remember the price though. | |

| I've got something similar to the Dremel that I picked up from Homebase a few years ago. It's their own brand and not quite so pretty but has plenty of power, has done the job and cost a fraction of the price. I don't use it a huge amount so didn't really want to shell out for the real thing. It's worth considering. | |

| Have you managed to get much riding done with this done yet? Any issues with rain getting in. I'm deciding on something like this or just drilling the 11 1/2" holes on the underside. | |

| Some of the aftermarket fiters are no more than K&N's bolted to the side of the bike with no covers to speak of | |

| Yeah that's true. Like to the tear drop ones that are completely exposed on the edges. | |

| Hi done a few miles on the bike since the mod, only form of transport, and to date have no issues with rain,I must admit I do use use K&N oil on the filter to keep it a little damp (bearing in mind it is only a fine mist I am using). | |
