| hi, new to this rorum, my 03 model volusia, (carb model) Ive just bought has V+H straight shots on it, the previous owner said no jetting was necessery, the bike seems to be running great, but in the back of my mind, Im thinking is it running a bit lean??, stock air filter is in, anyone have any info on this subject would be apreciated, cheers. | |

| Yes you will be running lean, ideally you need to rejet! However the exhaust won't have a massive affect on leaning it out but will be slightly more lean which isn't ideal as the bike comes out of the factory slightly lean to begin with. I wouldn't worry to much myself if it's not going to be a long term thing but would seriously be looking at getting a K&N filter and then rejetting! You would then be looking somewhere in the region of 155/160 Dynojet.

| cheers for the replys, funny enough the previous owner fitted a K+N, and he said it miss fired at high revs , so he put the stock filter back in , and now all is well. | |

| Did he give you the K&N? If he didn't try to get it off him as they ain't cheap & it's one less thing to buy when/if you re jet. | |

| cheers I will ask him for it , re-jetting is a bit beyond my spanner capabilities, anyone know anyone in the north west who might be able to do a re-jet for me. Ive just phoned dynojet uk in preston, and they said they dont do a kit for the VL, | |

| Just spotted V&H do jet kits Link and I am sure you will find other kit's as well, either that or possibly just order the jet's | |
