Suzuki does recommend two rounds.
I couldn't get it to go two complete rounds, it was getting real tight, so I left well alone.

I do all filter up by hand at first, as much as I can, after smearing the seal with oil. Then give them a additional quarter of a turn.
Always worked for me.

Most cars manuals say HAND tight, Suzuki 2 turns cant be calibrated UNLESS the bite point is specified.

That's exactly what I've always done Dave. And yet a bloke at work who does far more mechanical tinkering, swears blind the booke for his suzuki gixxer says "hand tight, full stop". I'm ignoring him.... He currently has an oil leak, and I bet I can guess where it's coming from!

Hand tight + quarter of a turn is the spec for any engine oil filter in my life time, any more or less is just asking for trouble.
