| Hello , this forum looks great. I have a 1997 VZ800 which I just torn down the motor to replace crank and rod bearings because the last owner ran it with low to no oil. I have a question about camshaft timing. the front#2 cylinder and the back #1 cylinder have and arrow on the cam shaft. This is to be pointed towards the front of the engine when the generator rotor aligns up with T.D.C. The book shows TDC of No.1 cylinder is the RIF I T marking aligned with the mark on the generator cover. Do I use the FIF I T marking for the front #2 cylinder? They use both of these marking per the book when adjusting the valves but they only mention the RIF I T when setting the camshaft timing. Can someone help me out?? | |

| Thanks I did post it in the engine section. Don't know what I was thinking. Well Hello! I am restoring a 1997 vz800. Owner ran it with low to no oil. Other than that the bike is in great shape. I am doing the usual new tires, brakes etc. Can't wait to ride this baby! | |
