| Is it possible to put a wider tire on a VS 800 stock rim? I realize there may be some clearance issues with the rear fender and what not but I am willing to make the mods. I do not want a crazy wide tire but something a little more aggressive looking like a sport bike size. The VS 800 stock is 140mm so I was hoping 150-160? Anyone know if this is possible? | |

| Check how much clearance there is either side? going up one size to a 150 shouldn't be a problem, it'll only be 5mm wider each side. | |

| Could look interesting and easy to change back when / if selling. Would it make a difference to the ride / handling? | |

Not really over one size up John (say 150 section from 140), ride height might change by a few mm because putting a wider tyre on a narrow rim squeezes the tyre in an upwards direction, giving say a 55mm side wall height instead of a 50, so instead of getting, say a 150 x 50 x 15 you'll be making the tyre a 145 x 55 x 15 if that makes sense? each manufacturer will be slightly different too, by a few mm's probably so that's another thing to take into consideration. Here's a list of tyre's for the vs750, I think they share the same 3" rim as the vs800 (old tyre post! but still quite a few going.) www.foreven.com/motorcycles/Tyres/SuIntruder8.htm | |

| Thanks a lot for the info and link. I would imagine the 750 has the same rim size as the 800. I know most of their other parts are interchangeable. | |
