| Does anybody know where I can buy some cheap but effective waterproof covers for my saddlebags? I've been searching the 'net but all its throwing up are cycling type accessories! Failing that, has any body got any ideas on improvising something else to use as a cover? The bags are between 44L and 60L expanded if thats any help? Any ideas are welcome, however inane or insane, whatever the case may be! | |

| Got any decent camping shops near you Skid (not the type Justin frequents mind!) There's sure to be some waterproof covers hikers and walkers use to cover rucksacks etc. The may not be the strongest on the planet, but in an emergency they may well do the job. | |

| I've had all sorts of luggage over the years and never found any that were totally waterproof. Even the enormously expensive Hepco & Becker aluminium boxes I had on my GS let in a bit.
These days I buy heavy-duty bin bags and pack all my stuff in them inside the panniers.

Yea, was going to do that as a plan B regardless of whether I had covers or not. The original covers split the first time I used them, much as the reiews about them said they would! If I can find them amongst all the junk I've 'collected' I'll have a go at repairing them with good old superglue. I'll have a look in the camping shops John, only trouble is those type of shops tend to be expensive. I would probably end up having to spend nearly as much on covers as I did on the bags (they were the cheapest I could find in a rush!)

| Mrs Bugsy has just reminded me that we bought the garden-waste bags as they are much stronger.
Just cut them down to size.

| Yes, well we were all so concerned about getting the French chapter aka Gary to book the weather for the weekend we were out there, that we forgot to allocate someone to book for the Blighty side! A glaring oversight on someone's behalf but lets not start a blame culture over it ok Although Sim's name will henceforth be synonymous with the words 'piss-up' and 'Brewery'! | |

| On my new super duper new Route Planner app, there was no sign of rain any where near where we are riding so we'll be fine. | |

| Fraid not Skid - we're keeping to a more central route (roughly parallel to the M6 and M4). We'll pray for you though. | |
