Actually quite stunning! gold and black look great, but for some reason the ohlins (or similar) rear spring looks!! WRONG!

Maybe originals are no longer available, and aftermarket doesn't support the bike.
My son has an 85 Honda VF700. The rear mono-shock went bad. The very last factory shock in the US sold for more than $700, and there is no aftermarket option. A popular mod is to take an F2 shock and modify it. The one we used has a remote reservoir like the one above. It may look wrong, but has adjustments for the valving.

Oh yeah... The bike looks awesome!
