PostSubject: Posting Pictures   Fri Feb 11, 2011 7:19 pm

There are two main ways to copy pictures to the forum, one is from the internet that are already hosted and the second is from a photobucket account.

Photos are easily linked from the internet

you need to use photo bucket, create an account then upload your photo to photo bucket, then right click on the img code then paste it into the box you type here.Or if it is from a web page just right click on the image & left click on "copy image location" then click on the little photo image that you can see above the posting box where you normally write stuff and put the link into that and it will display the photo

.............................................................................................................................................

Here is a short video of how to post pictures that are hosted elsewhere on the net

Here is a short video of how to post pictures that are hosted on your photobucket account

............................................................................................................................................
Here is an explaination of how to use a photobucket acount and post your own pictures, there is a video further down

Pictures really enhance the content of any message & so with this in mind it is actively encouraged. However The site has a limited capacity do host, so I am asking that pictures are posted using a link to places such as Photobucket

The best way is to open an account with photobucket to host your
photos and then use the [ img ] [ /img ] links to put your pics on here.

Once you have got your pictures onto photobucket you need to post them on here, so go into photobucket, click
on one of your pics and you will see on the left of your screen a box that says share this image with the following
options:-

Email & IM
Direct Link
HTML Code
IMG Code

its the last one IMG Code that you need to copy and paste into your message on here.
You do that for each picture, you can add all of them into the same message, but obviously you
need to have 2 browser windows open so that you can copy from one to the other.

If you use something other than photobucket say like "servimg.com", then its still the same, use the
IMG and /IMG with [ ] brackets at the beginning and end of each line for each image you want to
display.

Signed up with Photobucket, but can't figure out how to upload my pics. There is an upload from computer tab, but not getting any further than that. Been pulling my hair out for last hour!?

Hi paul, if you click on the upload tab it should come up on the left hand side my computer ? then from there go to pictures or where you have yours on your PC just go to the relevant file and it keeps that as your favourite so when you put new pics on it automatically goes to that file.

This seems to a regular occurrence, as Sim says it is simple when you know how.
I will do a video of how it is done, give me 30 minutes or so and I will post it.

Ok. When i click on the "My computer" folder tab on the left- it appears to be inactive, and a dotted line appears around it, but no options to browse??

Well I know what the problem is now....When I was clicking on "upload", the "Select photo's & videos" tab is not appearing on the screen. However, I hovered over it and it allowed me to click on it (Even though i couldn't see it).

Going to give it another try- looks promising Very Happy

Thanks for the extremely prompt response!

Great idea to use camcorder to film computer screen! No written description can compare with 'how to do it' vids like those on You Tube. A picture is worth a thousand words.

That's an admin thing. If you submit a nice pic, it might end up there.

All member bikes now posted will usually end up with at least one pic in the slideshow, Dave tries not to miss any. if a member does not have one in the slideshow it is usually because they have not put any in the showroom section. Any member that has been missed by accident just needs to PM Mr Intruder and he will add it.
