| Hello there,
I'm gazz, from nottingham,
Getting back into bikes after a 3 year layoff, last bike was a transalp 650, was great to ride, but having arthritis that was getting worse ment it was getting harder and harder to get me leg over, so sold it and stuck with me smart car,
that is untill i could no longer resist the call of the open road on 2 wheels,
I'm looking to get a VL800, as new as possible for about 4 grand,
last cruiser i had was a yamaha virago 535, was going to stick with the yamaha brand and go for the dragstar 650, but i don't like how they still use carbs on that engine, and all reports about the 650 say it's a great bike, shame it lacks top end power,
Not that i am a speed demon at all, hate the pocket rocket style bikes, always loved the 'sitting in a laZee boy' riding position, and with that goes the bimble around the countryside enjoying the scenery riding style i so much prefer.
My GF has never been on a moving bike, she may love it or hate it, have to be carefull how i introduce her to riding, she's worried she'll fall off, so a sissy bar is a must (something i'd have even if i never carried a pillion as it make this style of bike look complete) So that'll take care of her fear of falling backwards, she's scared she'll fall off sideways when we go round a corner tho.... anybody got any recomendations for chromed ratchet straps :)
Anyway, at the moment i'm reading all i can about these bikes, waiting for some money to come through, then i can start the search for my perfect bike to buy, and get down to customising it.

| Gary. Great choice of bike! My Mrs. was a bit scared of falling sideways so we got 'love handles' which go round the rider's waist and the pillion can hold on nice and tight. Those with the sissy make riding the Intruder dead safe - well Mrs. B ain't fallen off yet! | |

| i would stretch my budget if i could get one as new as that,
unfortunately there are so many dealers asking almost the same price as new for 2, 3 and ever 4 year old bikes, it'll take me a while to find the bike for me,
i really love the baby blue and white version, but that's probably an american colour choice, seems to be 99% black ones over here.
