| Just wondered if anyone has a different light setup? I would like a brighter light than the standard bulb gives (Front light) but don't really want to spend a fortune. Any Idea's or better still recommendations would be good

| I've been looking at the Xenon HID head light kits but can't work out which one I should get. Anyone got any idea which one would be best? They seem to go fro 6000k (normal bulb light) to 12,000k. So would you go for the highest k or somewher in between.

| I wouldn't touch Xenon HID. All they do is dazzle oncoming drivers, most of whom just switch to full beam when you can't dip your own.
I would support a total ban of these lights, they are not a step forward. | |

| Is that because people are going for the brightest light that they possibly can rather than just trying for a better light I wonder? I also wonder how many people that buy them, take the consideration that Crash has by trying to find out about them first? I also wonder how much of your bad experience of them is because of the last two questions and also if you have had many Xenon lights that have passed you that you have not realised are Xenon but are actually giving a better light for the user rather than the yellow light that most of us are running around with without it affecting you or others? The problem that most people such as I have is that most manufacturers will tell you how good their products are and fill you with an abundance of Bullshit & it is just so hard to find the real truth about a product and make an unadulterated educated decision | |

| We sometimes ride with a bloke on a new BMW fitted with correctly adjusted Xenon lights. They are just too bright so we put him in front so we don't get dazzled in the mirrors. | |

| Hmmmm I think some serious consideration needs to be given to this then, the last thing I want to do is gain better vision at a cost to every one else & possibly risk them driving in to me or a hedge because I can see great and they cant | |

| I don't really get it, Xenon is supposed to give a purer light I think? If a normal bulb equivilant would be 6000k does that mean that even the 6000k Xenon bulb would blind on coming traffic? | |

| Thanks for the link but gotta be honest I started to read numerous pages and articles written from various sources on the link and lost interest very quickly with each one. There is no doubt in my opinion that the people writing the information are heavily biased (which I understand due to the nature of the site) but reading it reminded me of listening to members of parliament which I also switch over from very quickly. The reason for this is, I will never listen to anyone that can only argue in one direction. I personally would have taken more interest if their argument was more constructive with both the pro’s and con’s being taking in to consideration with the weighing scales tipping in their favour but it would appear that no scales were present. So for me at least the search for honest unbiased information continues but thanks anyway for taking the time to find the link.

| I must admit it is a bit long winded and one sided, but I had formed my opinion before I saw that site. I signed the petition because I'm a right grumpy old git and I hate everything. | |

| I still wonder if it is simply down to people using a much more powerfull alternative xenon bulb than is required, simply because they can. I won't go anywhere near them if I end up blinding people but I would like a little better light than I have due to driving country roads a lot at night. | |

| I think there could be a very large dose of the truth in that & would say that if you are doing a lot of country roads at night, then you may well be more justified in the Xenon than us town dwellers. | |
