In readiness for my upcoming part ex I decided to remove the HH Sort Cut exhausts tonight and refit the stock pipes. I fitted them so process should be the exact reverse. First off removed the sensors (the cable snap connectors are fiddly!) and then loosened the header bolts. The one nearest the front of the bike is the most difficult to get at but I managed to do it without removing the air filter housing. Next off the rear bolts and the pipes came away easily. They are soooo light compared with the stock monsters I just struggled down the loft ladder with!! The bracket was very stubborn - I remember when I fitted it I swore blind they sent me the wrong one but got it bolted on eventually. So thats the HH sytem completely off and ready for a polish and prepare to sell - I have left the Chinese curved heat shield in place - an essential with these pipes unless you want melted trousers and a burnt leg!

Started to fit the original bracket - wow! so much bigger and heavier. Took me a while to remember that it goes behind the mounting plate. I will fit the pipes on tomorrow and give it a short run to test the stock system out. Actually they are not stock because the middles were removed but because I had new back plates welded, they look just like the original but with a bit more rumble. I doubt the dealer will even notice - anyway they did not ask any questions about the bike so I would act dumb if asked after the sale is complete. The new owner will be delighted with the sound compared to stock, I'm sure.

I do like reversible changes - you can have your cake and eat it!

Fitted the old pipes and did a test ride. Quiet but quite a nice sound without baffles inside. I still think the stock pipes are too long. Anyway all cleaned up now and ready for the dealer Back to stock 144396
