| Intruder went on the van today We had some good times together and if I'm honest I was sad to see her go. Still every cloud has a silver lining and I took delivery of my Gixxer, the new toy. Have to keep under 7,500 rpm which is not too bad for starters as I've got a bit of a learning curve with all the power. Luckily the sun shone and I had a great first ride. Took a self portrait with the bike on the side-stand and could not resist some Photoshop fakery to show a bit of 'movement'. PS I think I need some sportier boots. PPS. Still logging on to keep up to date and will no doubt post from time to time. Should think I'll be an 800er at heart for quite a while. You never know, one day I might get another (perhaps an M next time; I think I have got my head round the 'horses head' light now!) Cheers for now, Bluesman (John) | |

| Beautiful bike John Not sure about the wellies though I bet it feels like your wheeling a push bike out of the garage compared to the weight of the Intruder. It'll bring a cheeky smile to your face everytime you wind it up that's for sure | |

Weather's been kind so I have been able to get in a few rides. Got the tyres scrubbed in. At 7500 rpm (that's all I'm allowed during break-in)she's at half power but still able to sing. Some overtakes I would not have attempted on the SV! I'm starting to push the cornering and the useful mid range means I can get on the power just at the right time. The Bridgestone 016's are hard in the middle but sticky at the edge so feedback is good. I particularly like the Showa forks and have felt much more confident on some roads I did not enjoy before. The Brembo brakes are very responsive and late stopping confidence is adding to the fun. Went for a blast on the M4 today; again the quick overtaking has added to the enjoyment and, dare I say it, the safety! All in all it's a pretty amazing machine but it is very focussed, like all sports bikes, on getting from A to B quickly. I notice MCN have just named it sports bike of the year so well done Suzuki! It is certainly a lot of bang for the buck but then most Suzukis are. I'll have to watch it when it's run-in...... there's a lot of power there! The SV had it's power mainly at the lower end - the Gixxer just seems to keep on going. | |

| Glad your liking it John them 600's are a very focused machine and I've got to admit probably the most fun bike on the road right now, they're like controlling an angry teenager armed with a knife and a shotgun, I'm jealous of you without doubt, I love the Intruder and will never part with it but that screaming 600 sound and wheelie prone engine is soooo addictive, Enjoy | |
