False air filter mod / 2002 Suzuki Volusia

finally finished my mod of a chrome filter cover on the left over the pair valve thingy.heres a few pics.basically took cover from pair valve and cut a hole into new filter box to fit over pair valve.made it so it misses fuel cock and pipes.secured it with a bracket and replaced chrome pair valve cover,then the chrome air filter cover hides the pair valve. can also use as a storage compartment etc, look brill and evens the chrome out on both sides of bike.well pleased all for £12 inc free postage woopee.

Nice one Phil, excellent modification done there mate. looks great and the storage idea is a great one, I wonder if it could be modded to work with a hinge or maybe even just put butterfly nuts on for a fast entry

Great place to keep a basic emergency tool kit or even the Amp for your stereo setup nice and dry and away from opportunists.

hi ippikin i got the cover from ebay 12.99 but waited for ages for one to come on at the right price.theres one on now but its 40 odd quid.

Excellent job and symetrical always looks good .. I've been wanting to do a similar thing but my bike has the teardrop filter housing on ..I was wondering if the newer heartshaped housings fit my bike...would mean sourcing two but would look sweet when finished...

go for it ross im so glad i did mine people cant suss what model my bike is he he it confusies them.

Was just on fleabay doing a search and hit a zero, but I will keep looking. there is one teardrop one for the m800 but I would have to turn it upside down and fill any holes to make it look the part.....in the ad it is stated the bike it came off of was kept outside and had a hard life and he still wants £45 plus £12 p&p
