| Can anyone recommend a good sat nav for bike with Europe coverage? Do they come waterproof, or do you have to buy a cover as well? | |

| Tomtom riders are supposed to be pretty good and yeah they are waterproof , that's the one I'm in the market for, I'm sure there's others just as good though, Garmins are supposed to be good as well. | |

| I was thinking Tomtom rider as well but to cut costs I might settle for using my smartphone temporarily. :S | |

| Mrs Santa got me a Garmin bike specific one for Xmas. But the weather's been so shite, I've not tried it yet!
No audio out on mine.... that's something to watch out for.... but it is bluetooth enabled, so I've paired it with bluetooth dongle, feeding helmet speakers.
Also came with a very robust handlebar cradle, which stays permanently bolted on, and has a quick release lever to remove the satnav from it when you park up.

| I have the Garmin Zumo 220. Bought extra mounting kits so I can swap it between the bikes and it's used in all weathers with no issues.

| hey Paul I got this one too - it was a gift so cant say where bought from or what price! But it came with a mount and choice of 2 cablles either USB or ciggy lighter plug. On mine, ONLY CIGGY LIGHTER ONE FITS when satnav is on bike specicif cradle! So I also bought a 12v socket, as covered in this thread HERE | |

Just up the road in Chelmsford. A1060/A414 from you. I often head out to the Rodings for some green lanes. My Zumo came with USB and 12v plug and I just fitted ciggy lighter sockets direct to the battery on the other bike as I try to avoid cutting into wiring looms as much as possible. The RAM mounts are silly money mind, but the beer can holder is a bonus Happy 800

| TIP! You dont have to cut into the loom on the Intruder if you use the spare connector in the headlamp bowl (I didn't know till I read it on this excellent forum!!) See link in my post above for details | |

| Been looking at the Tomtom rider 2013, sounds fab.... You can select winedy/twisty roads for bikes. But, about £350, and I suspect you would have to buy bike mount + charge cable on top of this?? | |

| Sounds like a good idea I was checking some French twisties before on this site http://www.twistyride.com/contentArticles/roads/Motorcycle-Roads.html and you can download the routes to your tomtom and garmin sat navs. | |
