| After reading some of the reviews on the Avon AV71 Cobra they seem a pretty good tyre Alfie, multi compound, hard in the middle for durability and softer on the edges for cornering grip ticks the box's for me, I've never tried the Avon's but after running Michelin 2ct's on the R1 (dual compound) they make a world of difference over single compound tyre's, as Morgan say's though, I personally would change front and rear to match, because you get the same confidence and feel from front and rear of the bike. | |

| Cheers Sim,like you checked out the Cobra and found it to be a good tyre, trouble is it puts me in a catch 22. Rear tyre only about 3thou old,and although I like the Cobra idea it would not be cost effective for me to renew the rear, if I want to keep both tyres the same.I do thank you for your input. This is the good thing about forums you get decent advice from people who run the same bikes. | |

| Correct me if I am wrong but the Avon Venom model for our bikes is a bias and the Avon AV71 Cobra a radial. I could be wrong but worth checking. That's a no no isn't it? If a bias and radial are ever fitted together which I believe is not advised, then the radial should be at the back and the bias on the front, again I could be wrong so worth checking that as well. | |

I have an Avon cobra av71 on the front and an Avon Venom x on the rear, feels really good as a pair, fitted together, at the same time, as a set, by a reputable, experienced guy. ........ Ok, that's a bit unsettling. ......... I see a mail to Avon tech support on the way. | |

| Sent Avon tech a mail anyway, see what happens. I seem to remember something about the size on the rear .... ? Can't get a Cobra or somesuch, so they use the Venom. | |

| Got a reply from Avon ...................
Hi Glyn,
Our recommended fitment for a Suzuki C800 2005> is a MT90B16 Cobra front and 170/80B15 Venom rear.
Both of these tyres are Bias belted as denoted by the inclusion of a letter 'B' within the notation and these are fine to be fitted together.
Hope this helps.
