| Finally managed to upload some pics. Is anyone able to tell me what make these aftermarket slip-ons are please? They were on the bike when I bought it, but there is no name stamped anywhere on them. I have hazarded a guess at Cobra or Highway Hawk??? But may be wrong. I need to remove the baffles (and the 8 rivets) but need to find a Youtube video on how to do it | |

| Mark, There's not much to removing baffles really...just have to think before you begin.
Judging by your pipe discolouration the baffles might be nicely baked to the pipes so it will take a lot of effort. Or not :)
As for rivets, drill them out...they're soft as hell and will let go immediately. Just pick the right drill size and you're good.

| Excellent, thanks very much for the advice Marcin.
Thanks Dave, I got lucky with this one, it has a KPH clock, and I bought it with 1900 (one thousand nine hundred) KM on the clock from new with all the MOTs to prove it. The bloke bought it 8 years ago, stored it in a heated garage and never took it out again, apart from an MOT every year (he never took his bike test). Apart from the blueing it is in showroom condition all over

| Mark the blueing on the pipe is nothing, that will come off with some Brasso or similar product. You got a great buy there. | |

| Thanks Dave, never thought of that, hence the reasons these forums are such a good idea | |

| Nice looking bike Mark Not sure on the pipes? they look good though! Get a close up picture of the Baffle fixings and we'll give you a good idea on how to remove them, if they are just riveted in? they'll come out easy enough by drilling the rivets out like Marcin says, and be re fixable using a rivet gun if it's not to your liking,I'm liking the Yellow and Black colour scheme! | |

| The only advice I will offer on what has been said so far is: If you ever try to drill rivets always drill with an extremely sharp drill bit and do so at high speed with very little pressure, let the drill do the work. If a rivet is drilled with a blunt drill bit or to much pressure it stands a very high chance of spinning within the hole that it is placed and if that happens they can be a bitch to get out. | |

| Hmmmm :what1: are there any screws, bolts or rivets around the back of the silencer that hold the back plate of the baffle in? it doesn't look welded, but I can't quite tell from the picture. | |

| There are four rivets on each pipe, two on the back and two underneath, about 6 inches apart. I know that I will have to pull off the slipons, then seperate them before I can drill the rivets out, which could be more trouble than its worth??, after that I will need to pull the end plate and the whole thing "should" pull out. | |

| Yeah, That sound similar to mine, one allen screw underneath and one behind, Drill the rivets out as per Mr Intruders advice then replace them with self tapping screws for easier removal in future, It's never more trouble than it's worth messing with your bike lol | |

| Thanks people, I got lucky on a bike that wasn't advertised (after weeks of hassle searching Ebay and seeing bikes that were most definitely not as advertised) and owned by a friend of a friend who hadn't considered selling it before. | |

| Thanks for the advice everyone. I found the easiest solution with the baffles. A 12mm 10inch drill bit straight through the end of the baffle. It took ten minutes and now sounds really nice when revving (still quiet at idle) and no loss of power at all. | |
