| Just fitted my side number plate bracket and was trying to work out where to fit the number plate light for it. My mate said that it is not a legal requirement for a MOT. If one is fitted then it must work to pass. Any ideas anyone?. | |

| Well maybe you'll pass the MOT but I'm fairly certain the Police will do you if you'll ride in dark without reg plate illuminated.
As for where to fit the light, people usually drill holes for LED's or something like that Like these: http://www.amazon.co.uk/White-Motorcycle-License-Plate-Light/dp/B008U0WBKY

| Bought some led lights for it but thought that if I don't need them legally I won't bother fitting them. | |

| Spoke to my MoT man today & the words fine, points on licence, no Mot pass etc came up!!! The only way you can get away with no lights on your number plate is to take ALL the light's etc off the bike including the generator & that way you can have what folk call a daylight MoT which is a misnomer as such a thing does not exist only an advisory on your MoT certificate that you are advised to not use the machine at night or during dusk....

| Thanks for that Peter. Just spoke to my copper mate and he said a solo motorcyle does not need one. Prehaps thats what he meant about the daylight MOT. OK officer I will fit them tommorrow. :grimreaper: | |

| Could you use something like these?
http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/2-X-LED-NUMBER-PLATE-BOLTS-LICENCE-PLATE-ILLUMINATION-REG-PLATE-LIGHT-/321172763048?pt=UK_Motorcycle_Parts&hash=item4ac76371a8
Never tried them myself but might solve you're problem as they would be inobtrusive....

| Got a couple of those sitting in the garage. Problem i have is the number plate I have is a 7x5.5 inch so don't have room to fit them above the letters and numbers. Thinking about fitting a couple of brackets above the number plate to fit these on as can't think of any other way of doing it. | |

| I fitted mine through the letters and it passed it's MOT, I angled them inwards slightly and they illuminate the whole reg near enough. | |
