| Ok I wasn't thinking of making my low beam into an indicator I was wondering about the low beam light bulb and if it can be exchanged for a brighter one or replaced with an LED. Ideas anyone? I was also thinking of augmenting my blinkers with a set ofleds within easy viewing range. Ideas about that also welcome. | |

| Marcin I think Chris is on about the, what we call the 'pilot' light bulb. The answer is yes you can improve the power by using an LED I believe but you will have to search the net, possibly E-bay for a supplier & you would need to fit an off switch to the main beam as Mr Intruder suggests in one of his postings by simply putting a switch inline but out of sight somewhere. I hope this helps ok? | |

| Ippikin, yep exactly what I was thinking, thanks for the link. Peardrop, I don't think I would need a switch as I was thinking of changing the bulb type mod, not adding an extra light, and any added running lights don't need a switch ( an added fog light would). I searched for Mr intruders mention but couldn't find it. | |

| Hi Chris, Mr I put an article i believe in here somewhere with the intention of switching off the main beam & fitting a switch to do it, this way you could have the ignition on & work on the bike without the need to have the motor running or you could run the bike without the main beam on. There was also a mention of increasing with an LED, the pilot/parking bulb power so that you could use it instead of the switched off main beam as your running light. The mention of an additional switch for added running lights could be done as a simple on/off switch or as an addition to the main beam but you would need another relay i believe due to the added power pull. Also if powered directly from the battery you would need an inline switch hidden so kids etc don't mess with it & flatten your battery. As for LED indicator repeaters then the above ideas would suit your needs as stated. | |

| Yes Sim thats the one! I'm sure that I saw a mail about stronger LED's for the pilot but i'll look for a supplier on e-bay probably myself & let you all know ok? | |

| Ian, not what I had in mind but thanks for looking as I had in mind a replacement for the small pilot/parking bulb in the headlight & not the main beam bulb. I believe these are a capless bulb & not one with a metal base. | |
