Open exhaust, own design VZ800

I have a set of pipes over for my VZ800 -98. Been thinking for a while to modify them "a bit".
The idea is to  clear the pipes of the inner pipe and keep them open all the way with the same diameter.
Cut the pipes so the exhaust ends just where the pipes join, where the muffler is mounted and weld a 45angle back wards/down wards. All wrapped in bandage.

What do you guys think about that?
Should i expect powerloss ?

Might look great, or it will just look like crap. But atleast i have som thing to do during the off season
