Hello from Kent

Hello!

I'm a complete newbie, and I mean complete newbie.  I passed my test on the 10th of December and bought myself an M800 on the 12th.  I have, however, been riding her around like crazy and clocked up about 800 miles despite the wind, rain, and various celebrations of the birth of deities. 

Being a complete novice I don't know anyone who rides or anything and it's lonely enough out there with no one to talk to, let alone once I get home so I thought I'd see if you lot can help me feel a bit more confident about things!

I picked up a 2005 M800 with a smidge over 10k on the clock for a little under £3.5k I'm pretty pleased.  Not done any customisation but after a trip to Leicester and back I want to get some footboards!

Anyways, that's me, so HELLO!

Soon you'll be resorting to toilet paper roll to make a list of everything you want to change on your bike ;D

Firstly a huge welcome to the site.   

What a great bike to have as your very first after passing your test. It is a joy to ride with an excellent center of gravity & very forgiving of the rider in many ways. Don't worry about customization as that will come in time for most & not at all for others, as even in bog standard format it is a beautiful bike.
Hopefully you will be able to meet a few of us in the better weather when we start to think about meets and places to visit.
Ride safe & at your own comfort level. Never try to exceed that, greater ability and confidence will come in it's own time & won't be rushed.

Thanks for the warm welcome folks! I look forward to frustrating you all with my stupid questions.

As for the confidence thing it's more to do with mechanical stuff instead of actual riding.  I'm well aware of my limits currently and I'm riding WELL within them!
