| Would any electrically minded member answer this:
Is there any negative effect to adding extra, let's say 2meters, of cable into the existing installation? Loss of circuit stability or anything like that?
Many thanks. | |

| Not too much Marcin as i've put wires between 2 bikes etc before & also when i was doing some wiring on the Pan in my shed with parts on the bench & had no problems & that was about 10 feet away. | |

I meant the motorcycle circuit as Peter picked up.

| I think Crash will agree with me Marcin...its a bit vague. A couple of metres of correctly sized cable ( sized for the load (amps) you are going to put through it ) connected to the battery with the correct fuse to protect the cable...no problem.
Adding extra cable at the far end of a circuit .. say adding extra lights from an existing light fitting..could be a big problem....when you turn them all on.

| Sorry...that's what I get for answers in a rush...got a moment now.
Not adding anything, no extra load. Just extending cables to enable re-wiring of existing lights, switches etc - basically just extending cable length of existing circuit.

| A bit of extra cable like that Marcin...no problem... as long as you ensure its the same size cable . | |

| Roger that.
I have 16A / 12V specced cable. I'm guessing that'll be find with circuitry on Intruder?

| Marcin you should always use at least the same size ( same amp rating ) cable as already in use in each circuit.
You can go bigger but never smaller.

| Cool...hence the 16A... that should be enough to - in worst scenario - go bigger than required but never smaller. | |

| Correct? Not sure if I should have answered the post though as I ain't no sparky, I have sort of electrocuted myself on a few occasions. Thankfully never killed myself or I wouldn't be here now, nearly wasn't a few times when I was younger. | |

| I just happened to have my hand in exposed wall socket when my "friend" switched on the electricity. Never been the same since | |
