| The c800 has now done 14500 miles and the service chart says that the valve clearance should have been checked at 7500 and at 14500 miles. How involved is this to do yourself or should I let a garage do it, for piece of mind? The rest of the service I could probably do myself with a little guidance, as I have only ever changed the oil and checked the levels myself. :what1: | |

| The manual is available for download in this section, I don't believe its very hard to do. I know a few member have done it on here but so far we don't have our own write up | |

| It's something I'd do myself Pete, A bit of a fiddly job but nothing to complicated, The majority of the job is removing parts to get at the valve's to check and adjust them. | |

| Hmm this is something I have never done. Is it something that you know needs doing or should it just be done? | |

| It is important to do it Rattler. You may find very little difference when checking but alternatively, you may find huge differences from the recommended specification. You will notice next to no change on your own bike over a time but would notice a massive power difference between a bike that needed it doing and one that didn't. | |

| Is it easy enough to do? I've read through the workshop manual. Seems it could be a bit fiddly. Oh had my first decent ride yesterday, with the 1400 drive...love it :) | |
