| I should imagine it would work, it'll seal any imperfections/gaps between the exhaust flange and gasket, I'd leave the gasket in place if it's already crushed in there and put a small bead towards the outer edge of the gasket then fit the exhaust, use clear or black and any excess that squeezes out won't even be noticeable. | |

| Wouldnt happen to know the thread and pitch of the bolts too would you? Still need to get some studs to replace them. Thanks | |

| So I did as suggested using the sealant and its just the same. I even used new gaskets too. This can only mean that the bike needs a rejet. Maybe the packing in the baffles has gone making it leaner than it should be? | |

| Hows it going with the pipes Eazy?, Just a thought, Have you checked the joints where the the silencer meets the down pipe? (presuming they're two piece) I put an end can and link pipe on my bandit and it back fired and popped like mad till I'd sealed it up proper, also, the threads for the headers are M8 standard pitch. | |

| Its all one piece. It still ops, its not an exhaust leak. I think richening the pilot screw would sort it but its seized so I guess I'll have to live with it. | |

| Just read back through this thread and I take it you are not feeling any air puffing at the front anymore? I think I can see you are running a stock air box? If you can not feel know air puffing and you are running a properly sealed exhaust then the jetting shouldn't be to bad but that dont mean it dont need re-jetting. When you make any changes to the air filter or exhaust on a carbed bike the mix air fuel mix will be out as a carb can not make any adjustments in the way that a fuel injected bike can and does. You get the popping on a stock bike but you never notice it as it is so well muffled. When you change to after market pipes you don't have the muffle effect so you can not miss it. So I think you are just noticing the normal 800 popping on decel but either way although some will say their bike runs fine on a carbed bike even tho modifications have been made, it dont and that is a fact. To get it to run properly you need a re-jet and that is a fact but you may still have the popping on decel | |
