| The fan cut's in when the internal water temperature reaches around 105c, all sounds good to me John in this weather. | |

| Since fitting the temp gauge on mine, I've noticed that under normal riding conditions, a constant 50-70mph with the wind blowing through the rad, the bike runs at around 70-80c, as soon as you hit traffic of any description and the pace goes up and down? operating temp start to climb into the 90s quite quickly and the fan kicks in around the 105c mark (as Dave pointed out) but soon reduces by 3 or 4 c, where it knocks off again, I should imagine in this good weather we're having? any sort of slow riding (Cruising) will have the bike not far from the 105c mark so it's quite normal to hear the fan going on and off, the Red light on the dash doesn't come on till 120c so there's no problem unless that shows it's face, 'neat' coolant has a boiling point of around 180c (from memory) so unless there's a problem with circulation all should be good and the sound of the fan coming on set your mind at rest that it's doing it's job ps. You won't hear much of it in winter riding, so it's a nice sound in 'summer' to put your mind at rest that it still works. | |
