| 01 Marauder running like garbage in any kind of strong headwind.
Rejetted it last year. 145 Fr 150 RR and K&N Pod filters
Ive noticed it doing this before but its usually not SUPER windy.
Popping and backfiring out of front carb, loses power and stutters.
Anyone?? | |

| Is the air getting channeled towards the carb and being forced in when in a head wind? bit like "Ram Air" causing it to run lean. | |

| Good point Sim, had the same problem with a friends Honda 750 that had no airbox, the faster you rode the worse the misfire, was in the south of France at the time so no bike shops around, solved the problem by making some cardboard ram tubes, this was enough to stop the turbulence and misfiring. | |

| I too was wondering the same as Sim, if those conditions are causing 'lean' running .... it would be worth checking the plug colour in the front cylinder when this is happening (or just after). It could be an issue with the disrupted air-flow around the headstock at higher speeds, where the front filter may be in turbulent flow ...... I'm afraid the 'standard airboxes' that are often hated by us bikers do have some elements of 'design consideration' in respect of airflow. OR could there be other issues producing similar symptoms ..... such as are the carbs properly 'synched' or balanced ? ...... or any issues in the fuel supply ..... no obstructions .... fuel pump in GWO. | I would temporarily block the air from being forced in from the front between the tank & frame & see what the result is. | |
