PostSubject: Hello from Dublin   Hello from Dublin Icon_minitimeSun Oct 19, 2014 11:03 pm

Hello to all. My name is Arpi from Malahide, county Dublin, Ireland. After a few years owning a Honda VT600 Shadow I just recently aquired a quite neglected Suzuki Intruder VS800 from 1994. It only has 10000 miles since imported from Germany, and has some cosmetic damage like chrome peel and rust. The previous owner never had the chance to ride it in Ireland because he passed away. These Suzis were always my dream bikes, unfortunatelly this one is not in top notch on the cosmetic side. I managed to put it back on road with a new battery, a new starter solenoid, a complete front fork rebuild and some fresh petrol. I try to do as much of the work myself at home, but when special tools are needed I do have to resort to the garages.
Still have to sort out the peeled chrome from most of the places, the sticking throttle cable and something that I find funny is the handling. It has new tyres with the correct fittment and pressure, the front suspension is rebuilt and the bike it'self was never crashed but it has a tendency to pull here and there at lower speeds. Don't even know how to explain it propperly, it's like you would have to adjust the straight line by countersteering most of the times and after 15 minutes of riding your already tyred. Hope somebody would give me a hint on this one and I do hope that I could share my personal experience with fixing bikes.
All the best to you all and wish you safe roads and great rides.

start up a new topic and I'm sure people will give ideas on what it could be things you could check so on.
for now what side does it pull to? could it be something to do with the front disc? (brake)
