| Batwing fairing ordered !
I'll need to make some way to mount it on to my existing screen brackets but I don't mind that, it only cost £100 ( as opposed to between £400 & 500 for a Memphis Shades one )
Plan is to have it painted to match the bike, together with the pannier tops and maybe get a "trunk" with integral back rest Then it's all ready for the France trip next year !
Will post up pics when the thing is painted but don't hold your breath, it may be early next year by the time that is done, although I do plan to put it on the bike prior to it being painted and get all the brackets etc sorted whilst it's just plain black. If it gets scratched a little at that point it won't be too much of a heartache

Got it off eBay lads ..... http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Black-Front-Outer-Batwing-Fairing-For-HD-Harley-Davidson-Softail-Road-King-Dyna-/201133727304?pt=UK_Motorcycle_Parts_13&hash=item2ed4811e48 Although it says its for a Harley, it can fit other bikes If you make your own brackets. The key is the width of the mountings on the fairing vs the width of the forks & brackets. I've measured up the brackets for my old screen and this should fit with little modification ( I hope ! ). Spoke to a guy at Snooty Fox bike night a while ago who'd bought one & fitted it to his VN1600 .... He also had colour matched panniers and trunk which is where I got the inspiration from. He reckoned it was fairly easy - as the famous last words go .... " How hard can it be ? " . Time will tell !
