| A while ago I replaced my stock headlamp with an extra bright Philips.
Euro car parts have these on offer at two for £20.
I bet there nearly that price for a single one sold in motorbike packaging, and as far as I'm aware there's no difference...
Think from memory this is the type, and think from memory H4 is the size
Linky
Cheers

| I was in Halfords the other day and they were a load of Bosch Plus 90% H4 & H7 bulbs for £5 each so I got one for the VX, boy what a difference over a standard Halogen. | |

| Hi crash Are you meaning the Philips v the Bosch? From what little I know, the attraction is they're both brighter than standard.
Dont know if one is brighter than the other?
List price on halfords website for the Bosch is £23 or something, so v twin Andrew finding them in store for a fiver is amazing!!

| Hi Crash, they do make a big difference, I upgraded the ones in the car to the Philips ones and when I saw the Bosch ones on offer I did not think twice about it. | |

| I am a bit lost with these bulbs. I have just been looking at super bright H4 bulbs on ebay and seem to be able to get them for a couple of quid delivered. I think I must be entering the wrong or to little information for this type of super bright push fit bulb. Somebody help as I don't know what I am looking for or at. | |

| I think there's a lot of crap out there claiming to be brighter than standard halogen, but in reality it's not. I had a brand I hsndt heard of previously, and couldn't tell the difference.
But ones like the big brands mentioned ...Philips etc... are noticeably brighter. For the price of 3 pints it's money well spent in my opinion ... Too many dickheads on the road not to have a bit of extra visibility !

| Osram Nightbreaker, Philips Xtreme Vision Plus, Bosch Plus 90 are all 'brighter' bulbs. As Mal says, there's a lot of crap about. My bulb is a Bosch Plus 90 and is a whiter (with a hint of blue) than my old one and is brighter, but then it could have been a cheap £2 one form ebay that was in it, hence the difference. I have also seen ones for bikes, but I doubt if there is any difference apart from the price, if it has a picture of a bike on it, it is normally more expensive. As I said, for a fiver it was a no brainer and I would not be surprised if they were snapped up, hence why they have none left!! | |

| Mal & Andrew that's the info I was looking for, buy a branded bulb only if you want to be sure. This is not an area that I am comfortable in, so your words I read with a want of knowledge. | |

| You're too kind Dave... No real knowledge.... Just a bit of buggering about and trial and error. There are things that you know about, like the 1400 drive conversion, which sounds like rocket science to me!! I certainly wouldn't have a go at anything so advanced | |
