intro

Hi from Ireland, i've just been given what seems to be a VX800 circa 1993 in a bad state, needs a rebuild on the engine and the rest is pretty scruffy having been lying up for a while. I plan to put it back on the road and will do the work myself so if anyone knows where the best place for parts is I would appreciate getting some advice. Its been a long time since i've had a bike i'm really looking forward to getting stuck in.

Hi and welcome. I also have a VX800 and so do a few others on the site, if you need any info, just ask, someone should know the answer! Have you downloaded the Service Manual for her yet?

I have no manual yet I've been looking on amazon for the Haynes workshop manual but I just need to confirm that I'm looking at the right one. Reckon with work commitments etc. it will probably take me a couple of ears to finish but time costs nothing so there's plenty of that

Nice to see another 'VX' joining the forum - all I can say is it should be worth the effort to get yours back on the road - they are  a much under-rated bike, and are fairly easy to work on.
