Just moved to UK from Dubai (well 4 months now) and struggling to get my Intruder 800C registered here as they want me to do a SVA test before I can register it. They dont however want to tell me what it will be tested for and so it looks like a lot of time and money will be spent before I can get on the road :( Hopefully it will all be done before the good weather is done!

If you don't have the letter of conformity then the sva is normal, its only a Intense MOT, they make sure its legal for british roads, beam the right way and indicators correct colour in the main on a bike.

Hope your 'VL' so soon SVA tested - I think the DVLA website has some details about SVA testing - but as Justin says - it is just like an MOT with some extra checks for UK compliance. (It actually permits a slightly louder exhaust).

Welcome on board - hope you manage to overcome the MVSA. This is the SVA Guide, which tells you about the scheme, this is the MVSA Test Manual, which tells you what is going to be tested.  Interestingly, some items that are required for the MVSA, are not required for an MoT eg. mirrors.  Hope this helps
