| i need some help. On a ride my bike suddenly lost power. After about a mile it picked back up. i took off the seat and the pro was flashing which it should not do. I took off the tank and checked all the connections. unplugged and re-plugged. problem seemed to go away. Next ride at about 40 miles it failed again. It is loosing the front injector. Went back to Suzuki controller. Rode about 100 miles. ran just fine. Hooked fi2000 back up. Failed again on a ride. Picked back up after about 2 miles. Went back to suzuki Fi again. Rode about 100 miles. Bike is running better than it is when it is running right on Cobra system. I had a K&N air filter. With 8 holes in outer plate of exhaust and first 2 baffle plates knocked out. I am now running with original air filter and original Fi system. My question is: Is my bike ok running that way even tho I have the exhaust altered. I am working with Cobra about Fi2000. Guarantee is 2 years and I am about 8 monthes beyond that. They are working with me on it i think. | |

Yeah it'll be fine with the holes in the baffle but don't put the K&N filter back in till you have the Cobra working correctly, Good luck dealing with Cobra

| Have you tried cleaning the connections on the cobra? Where they connect to the injectors and earth point. | |

Slightly different, but when we got my wifes car it would randomly display the 'service' light and go into 'limp home' mode, then clear itself and would be ok for a while. ECU kept on reporting different errors, so I disconnected it, cleaned all the connectors and put it back together, no more problems and that was 8 years ago

| Yeah Sim.They seem to be ok. I have had the seat and tank off so many times in the last month when I walk in the shop it starts trembling like not again. I can't figure out why it seems to run stronger without the Cobra than with. Just got home from our Thursday ride and it seems to have more throttle response than with the Cobra when it is working right. | |

| If it's a faulty unit or bad connections? it'll be sending the wrong signals and amounts of fueling through the injectors causing it to run badly, by disconnecting and reverting back to the stock ECU fueling you'll get a steady output from your motor so although it's running slightly lean in that form it'll feel stronger than with a bad fueling set up, hence the question about the connections, they could have been deteriorating over a period of time and gone unnoticed? keep us informed Tex | |

| What a great experience With Andre in customer service and Chris Technician at Cobra USA. Both of these guys were so helpful. After a couple of conversations with Chris and test he had me do there was no question about replacing the Fi2000 even though the warrantee was out 10 months ago. All they required was a copy of the invoice from CruiserCustomizing. CC emailed a copy and I forwarded on to Cobra USA and the unit is on it's way. | |

| I got a call from Cobra yesterday. Just cking on how the new Fi2000Pro was working. And it is running better than the old one even when it was new. Apparently it had a problem from the start. I always had a problem in the wind staying up with the big bikes I ride with. Over 75 it struggled. Now it will hang at 80\85. Fuel mileage is better also. Great Company to deal with | |

| So the original was faulty from the start? I'm surprised they admitted to that! good service from them then | |

| Yeah Sim Phil the tech was the one that suggested it. He said the biggest reason they fail is because of high volts thru the charging system and Suzuki was the worst about that. My rectifier was changed on the recall shortly after a put it on. I checked it before i put this one on. It is putting out 14.1 volts at idle and 13.6-13.8 at high rev. Their system will take 18 volts. i think I will put a volt meter on it so I can keep an eye on it | |
