| Hi everyone, well I've 'exhausted' myself reading different forums on exhausts and the associated highs and lows associated with it. My Volusia has been triked and is really very nice, however, the aftermarket slip-on exhaust makes it sound like a canal boat! They appear to be of the cheapie variety and really sound horrible. Thought of going back to stock but the configuration of the trike precludes that I'm sorry to say. Has anyone any recommendations as to a decent slip-on? Loads advertised but I just don't know enough to choose. Any thoughts welcome. | |

| I had scorpion on my Blackbird nice sound not too loud, and Blue Flame on my Triumph, both equally as good as each other.I would not mind the sound of a bollinger single. | |

| Thanks guys, as an afterthought, does anyone know how far the header pipe should extend into the silencer/muffler? The set up at the moment has the header extending the full length of the silencer, surely it should go in a few inches so that the sound can be baffled? Put me straight someone (careful now!) | |

| That means then that in reality what you are running is a straight through exhaust with a fat end on, no baffling at all! Yes your spot on the header need only go in a couple of inches, just enough for the silencer to secure on to

| Aha! No wonder it sounds like it does! It's taken me ages to fathom this out. Have you ever been faced with something so obvious that you dismiss it because it can't be right? Anyway, I have ordered some new slip-on silencers from 'bike-it' ( I know I know but a retired nurse ain't rich!) so I think i' ll be doing some mods with the hacksaw to shorten the connector pipe. I assume the guy before me had had this done so that it looked legal but was ultra noisy? Honest, it doesn't suit the trike at all. | |

| Hi everyone, Well, silencers arrived nice and shiny, and I've spent hours fitting them. Fired up the trike only to hear the most almighty, earth shattering noise. You've guessed, of course, that these silencers, that the seller claimed and I quote 'silences noisy exhausts' doesn't really have any baffles to speak of! I can't tell you how p****d off I am. Still, not to be defeated, I have ordered some baffles and packing and hope to sought next week. As I said earlier, I would ideally gone back to stock but because the layout of the trike chassis I am unable to have a full length silencer, I think this will only be a temporary measure as I am determined to get this right. I am amazed how little info sellers put on the Internet about their products. I E.Mailed 3 or 4 sellers for their views on the silencers they were selling, not one got back. Well one did who said he didn't know as he wasn't familiar with my particular bike. I think I might be on the lookout, maybe, for something stock from another bike but shorter. I need to go to :7348: a bike jumble I reckon! P****d off x 10 (or more!) Sorry for the rant but you know when you work hard to get it right but it just doesn't come off? Well, I'm sure we've all been there. In the scheme of things though, No big deal! :7348:

| Oh man that Fekin sucks, sorry to here that it is going tit's up. Praying for you that the baffles you have ordered give a result at least close to what you want! Don't forget to give us some pic's in the showroom when you get a chance | |

| Hi guys and gals, Well, baffles and wrapping arrived and more hours spent fitting. The result? Crap! Not really surprised. Anyway, not using trike at the moment as sounds awful and do not want to damage engine (having read sooooooo many posts). Searched the net tonight I came across some Highway Hawk shortcuts which would fit perfectly, £295 on e. Bay from bournmouth. Judging by other posts I would need to rejet, does anyone know how much a rejet kit would be?. Also found a guy on 'lancsriders' forum with a suzuki trike who has fitted these. Have just joined and hope to have some correspondence with him. Such beautiful weather I would love to have been out on the trike but won't take the risk. Hope you guys are all ok and enjoying a blast over the weekend. | |
