| I was out for a ride today in the sunshine and it dawned on me that a compass wold be useful on the bike. I don't have a GPS unit at all; wondering if anyone can recommend anything ? | |

| Try an I-phone app, if you have an I-phone, otherwise its going to be tricky to recommend something 'traditional' as they are probably unsuitable for bike use. I'd look for something electronic & it will need to pick up on GPS to work. I've never worried about compass headings - you soon learn the limitations of heading West in the evening & the associated sun-glare, but it ain't an issue that you can avoid sometimes. I never worry about getting 'lost' when I'm out on the bike, 'cos I'm only usually riding with one destination .... home .... or another place I know. What happens in between is just the fun of motorcycling. Cheers Yam | |

| Just get a small ball encapsulated type of compass, cheap and will work fine on the bike as it will happily except the various angles. This sort of thing at a quick glance, although you will find much better types at still very cheap prices. Linky | |
