| Hi! I'm a beginner with bikes. I have a '97 vx800 and i changed my battery... I asked my dad to install it but he installed it incorrectly, he placed the wires in the wrong way, causing the fuel pump wires toasted. my bike doesn't have a fuse box so now i'm not sure if my CDI, Rectifier, alternator and Ignition coils are still working. can anyone help? you think those parts are still working? | |

| Is your bike a standard bike ? If so, unless someone has really gone to town on the wiring, it will have a fuse box somewhere - you just need to find it. Can you post some picturs of the damage ? | |

| look under the seat, or one of the side panels, they may come off look for something with a cover over it, and on most of my bikes if you can locate the starter solenoid it should be rite around that area | |

| The fuse box is under the seat, if it's missing then as katsd has already said someone has butchered the wiring, in which case, you could have done a lot of damage. Post up some photo's of the wiring loom and of under the seat and we will can then see whats what. | |

| I find it difficult to believe that anyone would be daft enough to by-pass the fuse box so heres hoping you find it, having said that your fuel pump wasn't protected by a fuse which it should have been, good luck m8, I hope you get it sorted with as little trouble as possible. | |
