| need to do a basic service on my victory, so ordered plugs, oil and filter.
On the American Vic forum, there was a link to a few vids, and they were recommending dialectric grease on the spark plug electrodes and on its rubber boot. Anyone here do that? He also put anti sieze compound on the thread (I guess like copper grease)
Any thoughts? | |

| Cheers, and thanks for the tyre reminder. Emailed Howard's in stockport who fitted the rear.... that was 2 days ago... never even replied. So I shall be going somewhere else. | |

| Well they certainly needed changing!! First time I've done them on this bike.... pretty accessible (no tank off required). But the air filters a different story... that can wait! Ps, bloke at work with the Busa is obsessed with using a torque wrench on every item on the bike. Didn't have a torque wrench, so just nipped them up. Firm, without going mad. I figured if you need a torque wrench for a spark plug, why do standard bike tool kits (like the Intruder) come with a basic pressed metal jobbie SaveSaveSaveSave | |

| I use a torque wrench where I can Mal ........ quality control on Jap stuff can be iffy, especially threads in to alloys etc ..... just safer that's all ( as long as the torque wrench is calibrated ! ) | |

| Dielectric grease is an electrical insulator, you would use it in the rubber boot to prevent moisture incursion. | |
