| Right another question....
I have already sorted my custom exhaust. I’m now looking at a k&n air filter. But I currently can’t find a FI tuner that works with my year of bike. Will the modern ecu cope with the mods? Or will it start effecting the ride?
Thanks

| From what I understand, if you change either the Exhaust or the Air Filter then the ECU should cope, but if you change both then it may not, it depends on the ECU. So you have 2 options, either fit a Power Commander (or similar) or get it on a Dyno and tuned. Most custom tunes on a Dyno are only for that bike in that configuration, so if you put the stock air filters back on it would need to be re-tuned. There are a few exceptions though. I had my BMW re-mapped to take out a flat spot my Hill Top Motorcycles (http://www.hilltopmotorcycles.co.uk) and their 'Maps' are dynamic (the following is from their web site):
ECU RemappingWe call ourselves 'remappers' because that is the colloquial term that everyone understands, but actually we write engine management software. This is much more complex, time-consuming work but means we have several advantages over conventional remappers: 1. We don't touch the original factory software, so there's no chance of us ruining your ECU. Our software goes onto unused space on the ECU and interacts with the original software as necessary (to allow functionality such as immobilisers, ABS braking, traction control etc.) 2. We're not stuck with the legacy of anything the manufacturer creates that's less than ideal in functionality (some manufacturers' software is much better than others). 3. Our software is self-learning, so you can change exhausts, air filters etc. without needing the ECU programmed again. This also means that the bike will perform optimally in all climates and at all altitudes. 4. Our software is invisible and cannot be seen by your dealer or anyone else, so your warranty will not be affected. | |

| Changed both on mine and had no problems, occasional popping from the exhaust but that only happens when you deliberately roll off too fast ![sssmily](/users/2611/31/42/84/smiles/3600103416.gif) | |

| From what I have found, I can’t find a FI tuner that has a map for my bike. (Unless dump has changed recently!?)
As for the popping, She pops anyway! Lmao!
