Hi everyone, Recently I bought a 2001 VL 800 and I would like to know that first tricks to improve the bike in the beginning, home made...or low cost to start I was going just for a clean but know that I seem it "naked" I would like to know what can be done (DIY).
Depends on the route u want to go down lot of options for the bobber look as the site Harry directed you to shows. Some of the guys on here have done the diff mod and swear by it it's all on here Fit a cobra or Vance n Hines exhaust changes the look and sound dramatically or just drill the stock exhaust for a better sound all this is on here.you will get more thAn enough ideas to keep you busy good luck
Thanks for the feedbacks and I hope to ear more. Regarding the exhaust Im thinking on going for some short pipes, use the stock exhaust and adapt some short pipes.I was also thinking to go for the KN filter but I read some posts saying that with this 2 changes I need to go for a Jetkit,is this true? The diff mod sound really good also but arround here is hard to find the diff and theres a few things on the tutorials that were not really clear for me...I have to make some translations e whatch some videos

In general, either a high flow filter or a short exhaust is fine without a rejet on the VL800K1, but if you do both it will need a rejet. Bob it, though...
