| Hey all, fairly new proud owner of a 1999 Marauder vz800, purchased last month with 28k km on it. Not too much has been done to the bike, previous owner had Cobra turnout pipes installed and the carbs were jetted. I have installed 2 new tires, front brakes, and new to me fork tubes. I have cleaned up the chrome added a little more. This is my fourth bike, I started riding in 2000. Took a little break because of the kids now I am back at it. I have put about 2000km on the bike in a month. Pretty fun to ride. Any advice from seasoned owners would be greatly appreciated. | |

| Welcome, check to see if the MMM has been bypassed on your bike, starts a lot easier without it. Also check the gearing, a lot of us change out the front sprocket for a 16 or 17 tooth to reduce the revs at cruising speed. I run a 17 tooth on the front and a 48 rear, I have no problem keeping up with the big twin Harleys on a club run. https://youtu.be/gIoCBcOb7ZU | |

| awesome thanks for the advice I was thinking of changing out the front sprocket. My bike seems to start pretty well. I have to adjust my clutch to have some more freeplay in it. | |
