Exhaust system options for 97 Vz800 Marauder

Just picked up a Marauder, 1997 model by the looks of it and the exhaust has rotted out a bit on the back - rattling internally.
Was thinking of getting an aftermarket system but the left hand pipe is a bit of an odd set up!
It's the one that runs forward, around the engine and back underneath(who came up with that one)

Just wondering if you guys have any options for me?

Tbh the standard system is way too quiet so was thinking straight throughs or possible slip ons.

Does the left downpipe from the later model fit the 97, so it runs through behind the rear cylinder easy enough?
Thinking maybe going with that then using slip on endcans to beef up the sound!

The pipes from the later model will fit, just need to change the swingarm pivot cover on the right hand side of the bike and fit the heat shield that mounts where the tool can was. I got the swingarm cover and heatshield from an Ebay shop in USA, even with postage it was cheap, and available.
