Hello everyone. I own a VL800T 2007. My wife purchased it for me in 2009 for our 1st anniversary. Unfortunately, when we were forced to move in 2011, the bike got a flat and I placed it in my neighbors shed until I could get it fixed. As it turned out that  wasn't until 2019. Also in 2018 his shed collapsed from the snow and fell on the bike. After sitting outside for a year, I took the bike to the shop to be repaired in April 2019. In June 2019. the repair shop was flooded by an epic rain storm. Fortunately my bike was in one of the highest places in the shop at the time and didn't get badly damaged. The insurance still declared all the bikes totaled and paid out for damages. The buy back for my bike was only $500 US so I agreed for the shop to complete the repairs in August 2019. For some reason that was not completed until December 2020. Since I was not going to be riding in the snow, the shop agreed to keep the bike at no charge until I was ready to pick it up. Happily that occurred yesterday, 20 April 2021. It still needs lots of love and care to clean it up but I am very happy to finally have it back. The original saddle bags have been ruined and will not even snap closed but I have purchased some new locking bags from Viking Bags. Will also need to get some parts re-chromed. It is a 13 year old bike with less than 8000 miles. I can't wait to get riding.
