Hey all. I've bought a gauge cluster from chine for my vz800. The cluster is a speedo and tach. Bike does NOT have a tach currently. Is the a factory lead on the bike to connect a electric tachometer?  If so where might it be or where could I connect it if not. Any help is appreciated thank you!!!

I was looking into doing similar with a different gauge, seems you tap into the coil pack for the tach signal and set the tach itself up for how many cylinders it is.

There's no wiring as such - you either piggy back off the coil or plug leads.  I fitted a tacho to my VL a few years back - Fitting A Tacho - but I don't know whether the wiring would be the same on your model, but the principle should be the same.  Some of the instructions are specific to that model of tacho.
