charging issue with my vl800 k8 2008 intruder

Hello All
I have been searching for a while now but it does not look like there are many videos or such on changing the stator and rectifier on my bike.

I have just fitted a new battery but it is not charging as it should when checking with my multi meter.
Once the weekend gets here I am going to test the stator and the rectifier as it is almost a given it is one or both of them that need attention.

has anyone ever changed either and has anyone any got any good sources of parts that are not Suzuki as they are so expensive as to warrant looking elsewhere.

I have found a few vids of c90 stator changes that don't look too dissimilar to the vl800 but none specific to my bike.

Any advice would be very welcome.
