VX800. Radiator and fan connections.

Please help. Have just replaced my radiator and fan.  Have connected the wires (LHS of radiator) to the temp. light, in the headlight cowl, the light stays on. The fan connector seems to have a choice, the 12v supply from the loom, or the fan switch from the radiator RHS. Fan works is working, but will not switch off when connected. This still leaves unconnected wires. Any help or photographs would be most appreciated.
