| I am unable to help, but I will offer something...
I have a 1992 VX800 that was modified by a total moron, and so I am tryign to work through it myself.
I know that the WHITE and the YELLOW wires are HIGH BEAM and DIP. I also know that the ORANGE wire is the one that goes TO the switch... Then that gets changed to White or Yellow to go to that bulb.
Hang on...
I need to go to the bike anyway, so I will write down all the wires...
My only issue is that it was rewired by a moron, and thats why I am tryign to fix it all ( And failing )

| Hi thanks for the reply, i sold 2 of these a few months ago then a friend sold me this one ...! didn't really want it but for what I paid it would of been stupid not to, i have just started to sort this mess out there are wires every where from 2 different looms ? half is VS750 and second seems to be a 600 bandit ? it looks like he was having charging problems ? and was using 600 rectifier / regulator , plus changed the handle bar switches by just chopping all the original loom to pieces, i have now run a voltage meter across all the loom ends and marked them the best i can, just ordered some aftermarket switches from EVILBAY so by the time they get here should have the crap sorted out, this will definitely the last one of these i will do... they are a great bike to ride but with every thing stuffed into the tiny space and no where to work ill stick to my Suzuki GS550 good old points/ condensers and a kick start | |

| Ok, well I went to the thing and had a bit of a check out, and I find no help there.
Again, I too am a victim of idiots not know what they are doing, and so the left has
Indicators, Flash, Hi+Lo and Horn
I was correct in the White and yellow come from the HI/LO Main beam, and the Orange is the one that goes up to the switch.
But then I get the black wire is going to the indicator and from the indicator and the Horn??? So thats wrong!
The flasher does however come off the Orange ( That for some weird reason is now the earth? ) And so the earth on the lfasher unit is now somehow a white?
Right, that is the moment I stopped looking and I realised that I will be more a hassle than a help.
Hey, at least its not as bad as my trike...
I wanted to replace the ignitions switch and key mechanism, as it had a nice push button starter on it, that the weather had destroyed and I find out that the previous owner on it, had re-wired the entire poart of the loom that is under the tank, and he used a reel of RED wire ... Thats all he had.
Oh, he had marked all the wires so you knew where they went, but the rain had got to that and so it was all smudged, but I had about 4 days work just tracing the red wires down to where they came from, and I did it, but it was no easy task I can tell you!

| Well what a piece of shit.... i knew i should of backed away when I was offered this bag of crap.. went to see the chap i sold my old vs750 just to compare the wiring on that to this ?????? the only thing the same is the bike, the wires are totally different from bike to bike yet both are the same year both imports ? looking through the manual at all the looms the same thing ? but the funny thing is his mate has broken one and still had the loom, even that has different colors for some wires, now it's mine i will have a good look over weekend fingers crossed if it's right great if not EBAY if it was bonfire night I would burn it, | |

| Well what a awful week, wet windy and cold ... as I said it was work or sell on Evilbay, i got the thing to run without losing my temper ! every thing that is supposed to happen does and I still have a spare harness never used the one i got, but sat in the house with every thing that I needed, switches meter bulbs loom then went through the lot labeled the wires then tracing them on the bike to the same ends color and it worked, would not want to do that again so it's just being put back together and getting a MOT for March then I think it's going on Evilbay i ride my FZ6 as my every day run about so no hurry to DUMP this as yet it's a nice looking thing but i prefer my Fazer, Damion i copied the all the switch wire color codes if there any good to you ? got them from the manual | |
