| My new Suzuki DL650A snapped on the phone at Port Eynon in the late afternoon sun today not far from where I live - so peaceful in winter. Have put 130 miles on in the first 3 days. Rides more like a much bigger bike than a 650. Soaks up the bumps. I'm finding it hard to keep the revs down! Seems strange being up in the air. Have fitted a small top box which is very handy. I will use it as my main bike in the colder/wetter weather but as the year moves on, the Intruder will figure more I'm sure. Tyres are Bridgestone Trail Wings which will handle some mild off road work but it's most at home scratching around the backroads. Pretty confidence inspiring on the motorway too with some nice low down punch for overtakes. Comfortable. Good mpg and tank range. Would make a practical tourer for a more adventure type holiday. I might take the Intruder out tomorrow - you know what kids are like with a new baby - need a bit of extra TLC to help them adjust! | |

| Nice bike Blues ... my mate's got a 2010 model in white. he's fitted all sorts of extras to it and absolutely loves it to bits. I do like this style of bike but being a bit short in the inside leg dept ( 26" ), I just can't get my feet anywhere near the floor !
Enjoy mate | |

| I really like it, nice high riding position helps riding through traffic at speed a breeze and with the screen on sitting upright at speed ain't hard work. - Bluesman wrote:

Be very very careful with those tyres John, off road on anything other dry hardpack could be disastrous John you are getting a bit of a collection of bikes with the two Suzuki's and the H****y D******n, surely some things gotta give.

| Looks great man, I have always wanted to try a adventure type bike too. When I was buying the intruder there was a white and brown V-Strom in the showroom that looked so tempting. I hope you get many a happy and safe mile out of it! | |

| I was almost tempted by that bike, same colour, down Thunder road a while back, I have always liked them, and I was talking to an owner and his missis at J30 services one day, and he swears by them. He was on a boat with a gang of BMW 1100 adventure bike owners, and he asked them where they were going ... they said 'Northern France, where are you going'? ... He said ... 'Africa'. | |

| Ill be the first to say it then, you have not got a sister bike, becouse if it was a sister you would go out with the family all at them same time. So to that end you are a BAD BAD cheat as you can only ride one at a time, the wife wont be happy. | |

John you are getting a bit of a collection of bikes with the two Suzuki's and the H****y D******n, surely some things gotta give. Took my Nissan Terrano on Salisbury Plain once in the mud sldiing sideways nost of the time even with a low ratio box - that taught me not to trust road tyres off road! I'll probably only venture on the odd dry track occasionally in the summer no doubt but for me it's just a practical road bike. As for the other bikes - problem is when I will ride them all. The Intruder will get a lot of use. The HD has been used more when it is too wet to ride the other but now I have the DL ....not sure. Mrs B would kick up a fuss if I ever tried to sell the Harley - perhaps some women have a thing about the name. I'll use it whenever I have a 'Harley moment' which is a bit difficult to explain but I do have them! I've got over the HD thing now and I'm glad I did not shell out big bucks on a bagger or something - I am more than happy with the 800 to satisfy my cruiser fetish! I like the bikes to be in different categories. I must confess I fancy a sports bike next but would Mrs B ever let me part ex the HD for one? - I doubt it! So I think things will stay as they are for a while. Course if I find that one of my bikes just doesn't get used..................
