| Hi guys Im new to the marauder scene, Ive been on the USA owners website for a while and apart from Spacerjim who makes loads of nice goodies for the vz800 I dont know where to source any parts in the UK. Im looking for a stage 2 jet kit and a new mixture screw for the rear carb ( previous owner screwed it all the way in and it doesnt want to reverse out grr! ). | |

| Why are you looking for a stage 2 kit, what modifications have you made or making? Why not just buy individual jets rather than buying a jet kit? Dan what year is your bike?
Found this link, they actually say its for 96 to 01 but I believe they are wrong and it should actually say 97 to 04 but I could be wrong! its is only a stage 1 kit though. Link | |

| Hi,
Im wanting to take out the baffles from a stock 98 vz800. I will at some point upgrade to an after market exhaust. I presume I need a jet kit and K&N air filters. I don't know what size jets Id need or what needles to go with so a kit would be easier for me.
Cheers for your reply | |

| Ive been told that the dyno jet kit is pretty crap coz you get bits you dont really need and have to pay more for the privalige. SpacerJim from the USA sells just the jets and needles.

| Dan thanks for updating showing your model and year. If you already have a link to spacer Jim then buy from him as you are now recommending him. My initial response was to a member that was asking for a UK link for parts without giving any of the relevant information that I needed to respond in any informative way and I had already suggested buying individual jets rather than a jet kit which you have asked for. You say you don't want a DynoJet kit as they sell a load of crap you don't want but the only other kits are Cobra & V&H which are also made by DynoJet! Ok lets get back on track. If you go to any motorcycle workshop they will be able to source jets for you and will probably have some on their back shelf you could purchase. If you take the baffles out it will run slightly leaner and ideally should look at jetted but if you are going to change to an after market exhaust you definitely do. if it was fuel injection it could soak up the difference but a carb can not! Do you need to buy a K&N you ask, no you don't but if you are looking at spending out all that cash on a new exhaust then you may as well spend the extra and go for a high flow air filter. At every point that you make a change to a carbed bike you should re-jet, so rather than do it in stages and keep re-jetting, why not work out what you want and re-jet just the once. You have 3 possibilities of setup that you either want or will do, let us know which one you are going to do and we will help you to get close to what you require. However on a carbed bike that isn't going to be dyno'd it is guess work as what jets will be right. As what works perfectly for one bike will not be necessarily be perfect for an identical one! | |
