If this happens to you

Started having problems with intermittent starting of bike,lights fine,battery fine no shorting or fuse problems.Took the kill switch apart and(sorry its a bit grainy) the mechanism was rotten.5 screws take them out,just watch the bottom right one,behind the plastic contact is a tapered spring between it and the starter button.All the contacts had corrosion and build up on them,clean easily with electrical contact spray.Clean the housing with a dremel tool and put back together.Took about 45mins.Now starts every time.This is an 03 model

Good shout Tony seems like a little preventative medicine can be applied here. Would be worth members spraying something inside these exposed switches

Great warning, I good thick application of vaseline will keep that from happening again.
