Only me !

Hi everyone. Accidental VX800 owner here. My names Pete Connelly and I was looking for a new (old!) bike. Needed a bit of upright due to an old (non bike) neck injury which reared its ugly head every time I went over 20 minutes on my (now sold) Triumph Daytona 955.

Never considered a cruiser, cos I don't like Harleys, and was never sure the Japanese could do one.
Wow! How wrong was I. A VX800 (1991) popped up and bang I was in the Suzuki 800 club. Fabulous bike. I am having untold fun. Needs a little tuning (I think it's restricted-so that will have to go!), but big smile on face and enjoying my biking for first time in a year or so.

Question, Any one any idea what model number it might be (you know E 01/02 etc) ? The Vin number is; VS51A102899 and engine number S501-1060B8. Any other  clues I should be looking at ? Also I have a downloaded 'Service Manual' and a Haynes 'Suzuki Intruder, Marauder, Volusia '85 to '06 ' manual. Anything better out there for a newbie to both maintenance, fettling and Suzukis ?

Great to see yet another VX800 has found an owner that 'gets it'

I don't like Harleys in particular ........ but have ridden them in the past, along with a myriad of other bikes, & besides the VX actually own an XR1200 .... which is a HD for those that don't like HDs !

Welcome on board Pete - I moved over to a cruiser for more or less the same reasons, sore neck, sore back, sore arse (tho that had nothing to do with Gay Justin).  Enjoy your ride - you'll find people here will be able to point you in the right direction with any queries you may have (no more Justin jokes please)
